The Honda would be a better sportsbike (nimbler handling, looks sharp, quicker steering geometry) while the Bandit would be the more solid bike for touring. The 1200 motor is far more a gruntmaster while the Honda would rev and rev for thrashing. The bandit is better for luggage carrying (more room and low pipes).
Depends on what you want.|||I'd go with the Bandit. Mine was perfect for long trips. ie. 752 miles in one day. Sacramento to Seattle without any problems. The bike is easy to fit with Givi accessories and turn it into a GREAT Sports touring machine. It also handles extremely well on a race course. I rode it on a one day street racing class held in Seattle, "Mike Sullivans Street Racing Program". Passed many a Honda.|||I have worked on both motorcycles for many years %26amp; havn't ever had to do anything major to either apart from general servicing, which for both bikes is at 6000k intervals at similar cost. I would steer towards the 1200 bandit but both are quality bikes.|||Both are good bikes so buy the one that you like the most|||better buy is the honda cb 1300|||honda some years of the bandit were real oil burners
