What bike would suit me best?

I currently have a Bandit 600 which I ride to work in Westminster every day, its a round trip of around 65 miles. I have applied for a job in Peterborough which is a round trip of around 138 miles. I service my bike every 4000 miles which if I rode it to Peterborough five days a week would mean every 6 weeks or so for a service and so on.

What bike would cope with that sort of mileage, not cost a fortune in petrol and has a reasonable service interval?

Grateful for thoughts, suggestions and advice.

Cheers|||what about a bmw or move to Peterborough. At 40 mpg it's going to cost over 拢300 a month just in fuel, then there is servicing and tyres. You could rent a flat for 拢500 a month and save your self all the travelling. Are you really going to want to spend 3 hours plus a day on a bike during a British winter.|||I do 65 mile round trip every day too, nice on a bike isn't it?

Swap your Bandit for my Thundercat and you can tuck in behind the double bubble to keep out of the wind, rain and spray while I wheelie my way to work on your Bandit. Mine does 150mph and 45ish mpg (not hanging around speeds). Prob less if you are a bit more sensible than me..... I mean I am a very careful owner, just don't look at my question ;-)|||I would get a cruiser personally. I don't think the sportbikes are comfortable at all for long trips. The suzuki boulevard is extremely comfortable and easy to manage with great suspension. I think the M50 costs under 8000.00 USD.

Thats how I'd go.|||VFR750/800, Duke ST2 or ST4 (maybe not the best for the service costs!!), Fazer 1000, Yam diversion, BMW R1200 or K1200?

Loads of choice. Bandit would be alright though surely..?|||I have a SWEET 82 gs1100e you need to buy $3000

very clean, if interested I can email you pictures|||me ide stick with the bandit!...it will do what you need it to...hasn't it already?
