If it isn't, what would you recommend for a journey across Europe? ;D|||dunno about the 500, but I took my 600 Bandit from Austin, TX to San Jose, CA (1600miles) in 36 hours, through rain, sleet, desert (100+ heat) and it ran like a champ.|||Hi,
I can't see a problem with the Bandit 500 so long as it has been serviced and the tyres are in good condition.
You will eat up the 400 miles without a problem and the bike is comfy enough that you won't have to get off all the time to stretch the legs and back.
You could easily cover the 400 miles in one day on that bike if needed.
Cheers
Keep it shiney side up!!|||Didn't know they were calling GS 500 a Bandit in Europe?
When they were launched we sold one to a girl in RAF who picked it up on Friday nigh and was on base in Germany by Sunday ( about 700 miles)
She brought it back for first service about 6 months later with around 6,500 miles (it had oil changes though in between)
