Having just sold his outfit, my husband is after another bike. His last bike was a 1200 bandit and he loved it.
He doesn't want a cruiser or a sports bike just something fairly comfortable and must be at least 600cc.
He has 拢1800 to spend, any ideas?|||though the 1200 bandit is a budget bike it is one that is outstanding value for money and performance to match. It is a better bike than the GSX1400 or the other muscle bikes like the 1300 Yamaha or the 1200 Kawasaki or the 1300 Honda. the twin rear shock classic muscle bikes cannot perform like the monoshock bandit.
If he found the all up weight or the lack of protection of the bandit a problem he wouldn't go wrong in looking at the GSX750F or the newer GSX650F fully faired in bandit, It hasn't the grunt of the 1200 But has the speed and will out corner, also for you both are comfortable reliable easy pillion bikes.
on a different note look at the Triumph 955i RS Sprint or the ST sprint, this bike is now in your price range Has the power of thr 1200 Bandit is lighter and more ecconomical to maintain and ride. It is also a cracking tourer comfortable pillion ride and many will come equiped with hard luggage.
Avoid the BMW as he will find it to tall to heavy and to slow. also any ( other than the K75 K100 %26amp; K1100) will be near to the end of their lives ( at the price you can afford) and you'll be looking at some really old bikes.
Also in your price range are theYamaha FJ1100 and FJ1200, both classics but getting harder to find and very heavy on the pocket. Yamaha TDM 850 and early 900, Go for the later version of the 850, with the 270 degree crank and the modern styling and one with less than 25,000 miles with a full service history, If you can find a low mileage early 900 it would be worth paying that little bit extra just to get the better gearbox ( 6 speed) and fuel injection.
Avoid any Kawasaki at that price unless you are looking at an ER6/ER5 or KLE500 you just won't get anything worth having for 1800 good kawasakis hold their price and cheap ones well buyer beware... ( nothing wrong with the bike But why is it being sold so cheap!)
You'll find a hord of old Hondas at that price but beware of those without history, early URBAN TIGER CBR900 fireblades are just in your price range and would give you all that you want, but expect high service costs and lots of miss matched paint and panels,
TBH in reality if he liked and loved the 1200 Bandit.... he should have never sold it!!!!
He won't find anything like the bandit for that value for money,
Sorry|||not much to touch the bandit for price the Triumph tiger 900 or995 good tourer and not a bad scratch bike. but my have to be old for that price and doesn't suit shorties unless it's lowered or how about Suzuki V STROM|||Suzuki GSX-R750W
A 1200 bandit S with the fairing
Ducati 750SS
Yamaha Fazer 600
Triumph Tiger 900
